Skyports Infrastructure in a Linkedin post reports that along with its JV partner Groupe ADP it has received the support of Manhattan Community Board 1 (CB1) for Downtown Skyport’s vision to transform the Downtown Manhattan Heliport to enable quieter and cleaner all-electric aircraft.

“Additionally, with the introduction of new maritime infrastructure, the heliport will serve as one of the first new nodes of New York City Economic Development Corporation “Blue Highways” initiative, supporting a micro-distribution hub for last-mile deliveries by e-cargo bikes, e-quads, and other sustainable modes of freight transport, removing dirty and pollution-causing trucks from the neighborhood’s surrounding streets,” said the company post.

“As the recently selected preferred Operator of the heliport, Downtown Skyport is excited to partner with local stakeholders, including CB1 and New York City Department of Transportation, as we invest in this sustainable infrastructure to ensure that these new uses, including last-mile delivery, are are seamlessly integrated with the local transportation network.
