Vertiport energy management specialist Aerovy has announced the successful closure of its pre-seed round, securing USD800,000 in investments. This round was led by M25, with Purdue Innovates, the John Martinson Entrepreneurship Fund, and FlyWheel Fund.
“When we started Aerovy, our mission was clear: to pioneer the future of clean advanced aviation by focusing on critical energy infrastructure” according to the press release. “We’ve always believed in the disruptive potential of electrified aviation, envisioning a world where communities are seamlessly connected by efficient and sustainable air mobility.
“Our journey began through research at Purdue University in collaboration with NASA Langley Research Center. During this research, it became evident that energy would stand as one of the biggest barriers to the scalability of Advanced Air Mobility. In response, we developed new technologies to overcome these potential operational constraints, ultimately winning the grand prize at the 2022 FAA Challenge.
“With support from our partners at the Purdue Office of Technology and Commercialisation, we spun out Aerovy to commercialise the technologies developed during the research.
“In the coming year, we are set to roll out our software products to partners and customers across the globe. Our deployments are planned at strategic locations, including Perth in Western Australia and Hokkaido, Japan, with additional sites to be announced in APAC, Europe, North America, and the Middle East.”
