The Advanced Air Mobility Institute (AAM Institute) has announced it has applied for Round 25 grant funding from Australia’s Advanced Air Mobility Cooperative Research Centre (AAM CRC).
The AAM CRC “will strategically integrate researchers and industry including airlines, airports, operators, aviation services, developers, OEMs, customers, communities, regulators and policymakers to undertake and deliver critical research and development in the AAM ecosystem,” according to its website. “Over a 10-year, whole-of-industry uplift, the AAM CRC will support timely, long-term advancements in air vehicles, air operations and ground operations, covering the ground-to-sky challenge of introducing advanced air mobility as well as developing sovereign industry capabilities to supply AAM products and services for Australia and export.”
“Anticipation surrounds the forthcoming results expected in June 2024, with preparations underway for the Stage 2 application,” said the AAMI in a press release.
AAMI has also announced the appointment of Giancarlo Silvestri as the Regulatory Affairs Officer (RAO) serving for the Board of Liaisons. Mr. Silvestri will serve as the Central RAO covering Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. In his new role, Silvestri will be responsible for providing strategic guidance and expertise on regulatory matters to the Institute’s Board of Liaisons.
