India.com reports that eVTOL services are being planned for Hyderabad by 2030.
“Some startups like BluJ Aerospace and AirArk are developing eVTOL (electric vertical take-off and landing) technology. Marut Drones and Drogo Drones are preparing drone technology for urban air mobility,” said the report. “It should be noted that India has started laying the foundation for urban air mobility, with the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) forming technical committees to make the way for air taxis.
“This initiative of the start-ups targets major cities such as Delhi-NCR, Mumbai, and Bengaluru for initial deployment by 2026, after by cities like Chennai and Hyderabad. The essential infrastructural developments for these air taxis are being planned in collaboration with InterGlobe Enterprises (IGE), parent company of IndiGo, and US-based Archer Aviation.
