Lausanne, Switzerland-based drone technology company Rigi Technologies has announced it will start drone deliveries of medical supplies between hospitals and diagnostic centres in the next few weeks.
“In the next months we are going to be starting operating our first route in Switzerland as a showcase before starting new routes throughout Europe,” said Adam Klaptocz, company CEO and founder.
The Rigi Technologies drone platform can deliver 2-3kg packages up to 80km and integrate directly into existing supply chains. “They create value for healthcare providers and by lowering costs of blood sample delivery while increasing speed and service area,” according to a company statement. “Centrally-controlled drone software and satellite-based communications allow a single operator to coordinate multiple deliveries.”
