The latest edition of the Advanced Air Mobility Index from SMG Consulting sees EHang, followed by Beta and Joby topping the eVTOL reality index list.
According to the accompanying market overview:
“Seven ratings have been updated – with details on what elements of the AAM Reality Index led to the change in rating:
- Volocopter [7.9 from 8.6]: funding
- Airbus [7.6 from 7.4]: technology readiness
- Eve Air Mobility [7.6 from 7.2]: certification progress
- Heart Aerospace [5.9 from 5.1]: funding, production readiness
- Electra [5.6 from 5.4]: technology readiness
- Dufour Aerospace [5.4 from 5.7]: production readiness (taking into account the Aero3 vehicle only)
- Wanfeng Diamond [4.3 from 3.7]: team experience, technology readiness
The funding for the following OEMs have been updated:
- Ehang: USD262.0 million from USD240.0 (PIPE funding)
- Joby Aviation: USD2,982.9 million from USD2,482.9 (Toyota funding)
- Archer: USD1,750.3 million from USD1,320.3 (additional equity capital from from Stellantis, United Airlines, and new institutional investors)
- Eve Holding: USD646.2 million from USD611.7 (loan from BNDES)
- Ascendance: USD63.0 million from USD71.3 (update from OEM))
One aircraft has been taken out of the index, the Volocopter VoloRegion as the programme has been paused.
