China’s CH-YH10000 1000kg payload cargo drone “carries out autonomous taxiing trials”

China’s Global Times reports that the autonomous CH-YH1000 cargo drone, capable of carry a load of 1,000kg,  has completed a full-load taxiing test at Zhanghe Airport in Jingmen, Central China’s Hubei Province.

“Huang Wei from Aerospace CH UAV Co Ltd told the Global Times that the taxiing test is a landmark mission node following the advent of the unmanned transport aircraft,” said the news report. “Generally speaking, important mission nodes in aircraft development, including unmanned aerial vehicles, include low-speed and high-speed taxiing, first flight, flights with different mission loads, verification test and demonstration flight…..The operator only needs to upload relevant instructions to the drone, which can interpret the route information and taxiing runway information by itself and make corresponding actions according to the actual situation.”

The control system of the CH-YH1000 unmanned transport aircraft is based  the CH-3D armed reconnaissance drone flight control system and includes defence measures against hacker attacks, “including the use of a dedicated radio communication network,” said the report.

The drone can reportedly carry 1000kg, fly at 200km/hr and has an endurance of over 10 hours.
