LGAA’s RX4E “becomes world first electric aircraft certified for commercial use”

The RX4E, a four-seater electric aircraft developed by the Liaoning General Aviation Academy (LGAA) secured Type Certification (TC No.: 0095A) issued by the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) on 29 Dec 2024, according to a Linkedin post by LGAA partner Volar Aviation.

“With this, the RX4E has become the world’s first electric aircraft certified under Part 23 regulations (commercial use),” said the post. “This milestone marks a new era for sustainable aviation, paving the way for commercialization of electric aircraft in the advanced air mobility (AAM) market. “

As LGAA’s global partner,  Hong Kong-based Volar will launch the RX e-series globally. The aircraft is aimed at short-haul regional air mobility markets, specifically in developing countries with limited road infrastructure.
