The European Innovation Council and SMEs Executive Agency (EISMEA) has approved an EUR17.5 million investment to accelerate the entry into service of AURA AERO’s regional hybrid-electric aircraft ERA, “aimed at being the first European low-carbon commercial transport aircraft,” said the company in a Linkedin post.
“This investment from Europe marks a new step in the development of AURA AERO, already supported by the French state in the frame of the France2030 plan.
The European Innovation Council (EIC) selected 68 companies for funding, combining grants and equity, following the first in 2024 EIC Accelerator cut-off in March. Together, the selected companies will receive an estimated EUR411 million in funding, of which up to EUR165 million in grants and an estimated EUR245 million in equity, said an EIC press release.
