The World Airports Lawyers Association annual conference WALA XIV entitled “Aligning civil aviation, airports and urban air mobility for the 21st Century” will be held with over 150 delegates from more than 40 countries around the world, in Manama, Bahrain. The conference will be held May 29-31 2024 and is being hosted by Bahrain Airport Company (BAC).
“In the 21st century, the movement of inhabitants and tourists by air through the city, using electric vehicles, autonomous vertical take-off and landing machines (eVTOL), using vertiports, and digital airways, is not been envisioned according to the paradigm of “Transportation” ” According to a press release.
“On the contrary, the Urban Air Mobility (UAM) industry has decided to shift paradigms and adopt the “Mobility” paradigm. That decision has juridical consequences influencing the relationship between Law, Justice and Mobility.
“An air approach to the Urban Mobility requires creating new rules and laws as well as new ways of understanding how different legal regimes interact and how they vary from one city to another.“
