Doroni Aerospace reports that Minnesota has joined New Hampshire in becoming the second state to approve regulations for flying cars with the enactment of the “Jetsons Law” on August 1st.
According to a Newsweek article quoted by the manufacturer:
“The enactment of the Jetsons Law shows that states are starting to recognize this technology as the future of transportation. It’s smart to get ahead of the curve and start planning how to integrate these vehicles into our daily lives…Given the increasing traffic, the cost of building highways, and the environmental impact, it makes sense for other states to encourage this new way of commuting. The FAA is already working on national rules, as it is up to them to govern the skies. However, with more states passing laws like this, it only helps to speed up the FAA’s regulatory process.”
The article highlights that California lacks specific laws for flying cars, but general regulations from aviation, autonomous vehicle, and motor vehicle laws may apply
“This latest state approval is a significant step toward making flying cars a reality,” says Doroni,
At the start of July Doroni Aerospace announced it had introduced a custom-built motor test fixture, “a critical component in the development and testing of the H1-X,” said the company. “This custom-built apparatus is designed to rigorously test the motors and other components under various conditions to ensure they meet the highest standards of performance, reliability, and safety. The fixture allows us to simulate real-world scenarios and analyze the behavior of our propulsion system, enabling us to fine-tune the technology and address any potential issues before integrating it into the final aircraft design.”
