Vertaxi debuts five-seat autonomous M1 eVTOL at Shanghai show

Vertaxi, based in Zhuhai, Guangdong, China, has announced in a Linkedin post the global debut of its M1 electric Vertical Take-Off and Landing (eVTOL) manned aircraft , at this year’s China International Import Expo (CIIE) in Shanghai.

“With a wingspan of 15 meters and a takeoff weight of 2.5 tons, the fully electric M1 is designed to revolutionize short-distance air travel,” said the company in the post. “The M1 is fully autonomous, with vertical takeoff and landing capabilities, making it the perfect “air taxi” for cities…..It can carry up to five passengers, travel 250 km on a single charge, and reach speeds of up to 200 km/h.”

The company is working with Ampaire on the programme and recently announced it had raised USD29 million in Pre-Series B Funding bringing its total funding to over USD57 million.
