Skyfly Technologies is unveiling its new Axe eVTOL, the world’s first public viewing of the aircraft, at the Royal Air Tattoo show in the UK, taking place between 19 and 21 July 2024 at RAF Fairford.
It is part of a line-up of electric aviation innovations organised by charging company Aerovolt. Aerovolt partnered with Skyfly early in 2024 and the two companies are working on integrating the Axe in the Aerovolt charging network. Skyfly plans the first UK’s first airfield to airfield eVTOL flight later this year.
Aerovolt will also be demonstrating SQUADRON, its new multi site aircraft booking and management platform, where aircraft booking, training, payments, flight logging and charging are managed entirely online with one account. Currently operating from Goodwood and Dunkeswell Aerodromes (more sites to follow) with several light sport and electric aircraft including 10+ member instructors available too.
The Electric Skyway display also includes electric propulsion specialists Flux Aviation, which is developing electric motors and batteries to power electric aircraft. It will be showcasing first fully converted CFM Shadow aircraft to electric, demonstrating the viability of converting existing aircraft and giving them a new lease of life.
