At HAI Heli-Expo in Atlanta on 4 March, helicopter company Sikorsky announced plans to partner with Otis Elevator Company and The Spaceship Company – which makes spaceships for Virgin Galactic – to develop new technologies for the urban air mobility market.

Key to an Sikorsky involvement in future urban air taxi developments will be the company’s Matrix “optimally piloted” technology – autonomous helicopter flight control systems which have been developed in partnership with the US Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency.
