Serbia plans to begin operating eVTOLs by 2027, President Aleksandar Vucic said at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, on January 21, according to Intellinews.
The news source said there was considerable scepticism about the announcement from many in the country but President Vucic said discussions were already underway with Archer Aviation. “We have started to negotiate the purchase of at least three aircraft,” Vucic told Serbian media.
“Serbia is also exploring partnerships with Chinese companies that have already deployed flying cars in several cities”, said the news report. “The president said that Serbia aims to finalise regulatory frameworks and technical preparations by mid-2026, paving the way for the introduction of flying cars the following year. The ambitious timeline coincides with Expo 2027, an international exhibition set to take place in Belgrade, where Serbia plans to show off its infrastructure development and technological progress.”
