Samson Sky recently announced on social media that its “flying car prototype passed the FAA inspection required for Experimental Aircraft registration, clearing the way for flight testing to begin!”
In the post the company said “Getting to this point of readiness was the result of many years of work and is a huge win for the team. For the inspection, the vehicle was buttoned up and ready for flight. We are now making the preparations for initial flight testing, which is a series of small steps of high speed taxi testing leading up to in-the-air flight testing.”
Based in Oregon USA, Samson Sky has been working on the project for 14 years and CEO inventor Sam Bousfield is reported as saying that the crew have now taken off their “R&D” hats and replaced them with “Flight test” ones.
