Der Spiegel reports that Bavaria’s State Chancellery Chief Florian Herrmann announced on Tuesday that the Bavarian state cabinet had agreed on state aid for the company.
“However, the company from Oberpfaffenhofen near Munch will only be granted liability for a loan of EUR 50 million if the federal government participates in the same way, Herrmann said after a cabinet meeting.
“The Federal Ministry of Transport welcomed the decision in Bavaria and announced that it would take the necessary steps and examine support with the Federal Ministry of Finance,” continued the press report. “The Bundestag’s Budget Committee would have to decide on a state guarantee. “We want to keep this key technology in German hands and prevent it from moving abroad.”
“We have taken note of the media reports. However, we cannot comment on an ongoing process until it has been completed,” said Lilium in response to the press reports.
