Multiple press reports say electric-aircraft developer Eviation has laid off much of its staff and has paused work on its Alice aircraft.
According to the Seattle Times
“Arlington-based startup Eviation, which flew the first flight of its sleek all-electric airplane at Moses Lake in fall 2022, laid off most of its staff last week after failing to attract new funding, according to two employees who were among those cut.”
The venture is majority-owned by the Singapore-based Clermont Group.
According to company sources, Evation is pausing operations until it can find a strategic partner to move the business forward.
The nine-seater Alice all-electric commuter aircraft produces zero emissions and costs significantly less to operate per flight hour compared with light jets or regular turboprops, according to the company. It is powered by two magni650 electric propulsion units.
