Volz Servos has signed a production agreement with BETA Technologies as an electromechanical actuator partner for the ALIA project.
“Volz will soon complete its EN 9100 certification, equivalent to AS 9100”, said Phillipp Volz, CEO of Volz Servos.
In 2023, BETA teamed up with Volz to complete its fly-by-wire system for the ALIA CTOL and ALIA VTOL. With the production agreement, including requirements also be guaranteed throughout the entire supply chain, BETA together with Volz creates the basis for the ALIA production phase following development/certification: With its EASA certified subsidiary AEE (Aircraft Electronic Engineering GmbH), Volz can develop, produce, and maintain actuators according to each domain applicable aviation standards.
“In the past several weeks, we’ve rolled our first aircraft off the production line and begun flight testing,” said Talon Vazquez, BETA’s Head of Supply Chain. “It’s a new chapter for BETA as we approach market delivery, and one that we couldn’t reach without partners like Volz. In addition to providing top-of-the-line actuators that deliver on safety and reliability and meet multiple certification standards, Volz shares our long-term vision for AAM. We’re glad to have such supportive partners that can help us meet customers’ needs in the immediate, while building capabilities for an autonomous future.”
