Autoflight adds new senior executives and opens US office

Chinese eVTOL manufacturer AutoFlight has announced the appointment of two senior industry experts to  the global leadership team and that the company has opened an office in Napa County, USA.

The new President, Omer Bar-Yohay (co-Founder and former CEO of Eviation Aircraft), will lead the worldwide operations and Chad Cashin (formerly leading Business Development at Joby Aviation) is taking over as Chief Commercial Officer for the group.

One of the first priorities of the team will be to introduce  the company’s Prosperity I eVTOL to the US market, for certification, product development and sales. In June this year AutoFlight released a video of Prosperity 1 (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o3t40KcnMBo) flight trials with a new lift & cruise configuration.

In January 2022 AutoFlight opened its first location in Europe with a team led by former Airbus manager Mark R. Henning ramping up operations at Augsburg Airport in Germany. According to a company press release: “The team’s first task is to achieve European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) certification for AutoFlight’s airtaxi ‘Prosperity I’, an electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft with a range of approximately 250 kilometers. It can comfortably seat up to three passengers in addition to the pilot. The certification program for this air taxi will begin this year, with completion expected by 2025.”
