Ascendance signs letter of intent with Philippines-based PhilJets for five more Atea eVTOLs

Toulouse-based eVTOL and advanced air mobility company Ascendance has signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) with Philippines-based PhilJets. The signing occurred in the presence of Laurent Saint-Martin, Minister Delegate for Foreign Trade and French Nationals Abroad.

“This new LOI brings the total number of Atea aircraft pre-ordered by PhilJets to 15,” said the company in a press release. “In addition, Ascendance & PhilJets have entered into a strategic partnership to explore how Ascendance’s hybrid electric VTOL can address the challenges of regional air mobility across the Philippine archipelago.

“This step in the partnership between Ascendance and PhilJets is part of a French delegation’s tour of Asia, which includes visits to the Philippines, Japan, Singapore, Indonesia, and Vietnam. The LOI was signed during a bilateral meeting between the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Philippine Department of Transportation in Manila on Friday, April 11.
