Multirotor drone market spinning towards sales of USD8.3 billion by 2027

Latest research suggests the global market for multirotor drones is on course to reach USD8.3 billion (UKP6.3 billion) within the next seven years, reports commercialdroneprofessional.com.

The market for UAVs with more than two motors was worth USD1.9 billion (UKP1.4 billion) last year, but is poised to experience CAGR of 20 percent leading up to 2027, according to Stratistics MRC.

The company said key factors propelling the market growth include the increasing need for quick access to mission critical locations, the growing use of UAVs in the military and law enforcement, and technological advancements to improve the working of multirotor drones.

While, declining defence budgets and lack of skilled and trained pilots are expected to restrain this level of growth, growing demand of drones from the business and commercial sectors could attract new opportunities in the market.

Multirotor drones are simpler to operate over other types of drone as it is controlled by changing the relative speed of the rotor and adjusting the thrust produced by each rotor blade.

The report list a number of “key” players in the multirotor drones market including Aibotix, 3D Robotics-Drone & UAV Technology, DJI, Draganfly, Parrot and Yuneec International.
