
Multiple media outlets report that a subsidiary of China’s Wanfeng Auto Group has acquired German eVTOL company Volocopter.
According to China eVTOL News:
“The company’s (Wanfeng) subsidiary, heptus 591 GmbH, has signed an Asset Purchase Agreement with Tobias Wahl, the administrator of Volocopter GmbH. heptus 591. GmbH intends to acquire related tangible assets, intellectual property rights, and assume specific contract rights and obligations under the name of Volocopter GmbH.”
According to the news outlet Wirtschafts Woche:
“Sources close to the company say that the new owner wants to reduce the size of the team as a first step. Of the approximately 500 employees, only about 160 will continue to work on the flying taxi. The staff were laid off on Monday without further ado , and their employment contracts expire at the end of June.”
