Emilien Marchand, head of Partnerships & Policy at Wisk, in a Linkedin post has outlined the proposed Wisk flight network in the City of Houston, Texas.
“Imagine going to an Astro’s game downtown or reaching Bush Intercontinental and Hobby Airport for a vacation or business trip in ~15 minutes, no matter the time of day, and without adding more cars crowding the road? Thanks to our partners at the City of Houston, Houston Airport System and City of Sugar Land, TX for sharing this vision. This is only the beginning!”
The route network comprises:
IAH – Downtown Houston
IAH – Ellington
IAH – Energy Corridor
IAH – Sugar Land
Hobby – Energy Corridor
Hobby – Sugar Land
Ellington – Downtown Houston
Sugar Land – Downtown Houston
Energy Corridor – Downtown Houston
According to Houston City media reports, Wisk is planning bring self-flying air taxis to Southeast Texas by the end of the decade, and a preliminary map of proposed routes features six vertiport locations in the Houston area and nine routes. One of the proposed sites for the vertiport is the George R. Brown Convention Center.
