EHang at ICAO anniversary: “more than 30 local authorities in China developing AAM programmes”

Conor Yang, Chief Financial Officer of EHang, outlined the autonomous eVTOL manufacturer’s commitment to collaborating with ICAO at the 80th anniversary ICAO celebrations of the signing of the Convention on International Civil Aviation.

EHang has completed over 56,000 safe flights across 18 countries and is actively fostering cooperation with ICAO and national civil aviation authorities to drive regulatory innovation within the industry, said the company in a press release. “Looking ahead, EHang will continue to lead the transformation of global civil aviation and advanced air mobility through policy advocacy, international collaboration, and the development of a robust ecosystem.”

Conor Yang was invited to participate in a high-level roundtable discussion and speak during the “The Role of Innovation in Unlocking a Sustainable Future” session. According to the company, the Chinese government has identified low-altitude economy as a strategic emerging industry. “To date, more than 30 provincial and municipal governments in China have included the low-altitude economy in their three- to five-year development plans and are actively building vertical take-off and landing platforms and other infrastructure to lay the groundwork for eVTOL commercialization,” said the press statement.
