SALAAM industry consortium launched to develop AAM infrastructure programmes worldwide

A new advanced air mobility consortium SALAAM (Sky Alliance of Automated Air Mobility) has been launched in Austria to provide global support to cities, regions and nations looking to develop AAM infrastructure,

Members of the consortium include FlyNow, Kookiejar and Vjaitra Air Mobility.

According to the consortium’s website:

“The purpose of this approach is to relieve the entity (city, region or nation) wishing to introduce AAM from having to identify compatible elements of the overall ecosystem and having to oversee the adoption of a common operations concept and define the interfaces between the individual suppliers’ offerings. Instead, the Alliance promotes that this integration effort will be borne by the offering group of companies.

A Linkedin post from Ratandeep Tripathi,Founder & CEO of Vjaitra Air Mobility, developer of India’s first hydrogen five-seat VTOL air taxi: “As a collaborative alliance, SALAAM is focused on developing the critical infrastructure and frameworks required for seamless air taxi operations, including: establishing waypoints for takeoff, landing, and mid-route navigation; designing safe and efficient flying routes for urban and intercity air travel; enabling regulatory and technological support for smooth integration into existing transportation systems.

“For India, SALAAM holds the promise of revolutionizing urban mobility with air taxis, supporting smart cities, and offering sustainable solutions to congestion and pollution. Globally, it fosters international collaboration for cutting-edge innovation and the establishment of standardized frameworks for automated air mobility.”
