CityAirbus NextGen’s flight test campaign has started with a first lift-off in Donauwörth in Germany, according to an Airbus Linkedin post.
The aircraft was unveiled in March this year. According to a description of the eVTOL on the Airbus website: “the two-tonne class CityAirbus, with a wing span of approximately 12 metres, is being developed to fly with an 80 km range and to reach a cruise speed of 120 km/h, making it perfectly suited for operations in major cities for a variety of missions.
The aircraft’s configuration incorporates innovative design elements that make for a robust and seamless architecture: fixed wings; a V-shaped tail; and eight electric-powered propellers as part of its uniquely designed distributed propulsion system.”
More details will be published when they become available.
