GITEX Global offers a glimpse of future personal flying vehicles

The GITEX Global 2024 technology show in Dubai this year has featured several personal eVTOLs and flying cars.

Xpeng Aeroht is displaying its autonomous flying car which is plans to make available to customers in 2030. The two-seat, electric-powered vehicle is capable of vertical takeoff and can reach a height of 1,000 meters. It features fold-away propellers, which deploy when it is time for flight.

The Cadillac PersonalSpace eVTOLConcept is also in display. The semi-autonomous vehicle was launched at the 2021 CES event and is designed to transport a single passenger; it features four independent electric motors,  – two mounted at the base of the cabin and two at the top.

Also on display is the Zapata Air Scooter, a single seat vehicle which is set for launch in 2025. According to the company, the vehicle is compliant with FAA PART 103 Regulations and can be flown without a pilot license in the USA as an “ultralight aircraft”.
