BETA Technologies has shown some of the different cockpit configurations becoming available for its passenger and transport fixed-wing and VTOL ALIA aircraft concept.
The company hopes to enter service with its cargo- and medical-focused variant as soon as 2025.
According to the company’s website: “Our first customer, United Therapeutics, needed to transport life saving medical equipment, organs and tissue, and the support teams required to help save lives. So, we built an aircraft fit to make that happen. UPS saw our aircraft and the potential for cargo space, and we worked to create a cargo option for the market, too. “
The ALIA comes in two forms: the A250 VTOL Vertical takeoff & landing all-electric aircraft and the ALIA CX300 CTOL Conventional takeoff & landing all-electric aircraft.
In the passenger variant there is room for four passengers and two flight crew, with a cargo capacity for 200 cu ft in both variants.
