Volatus Infrastructure LLC has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) vehicle manufacturer Plana.
Plana, founded in July 2021, focuses on a hybrid powertrain system and its VTOL aircraft can carry up to six passengers with one pilot with a cruising speed of 190mph and with a range of more than 310 miles. Plana plans to finish the eVTOL subscale flight test this year, according to a joint press release. Plana plans to launch a branch office in the United States for closer communication and starting the certification process with the FAA, and to participate in the Korean Grand Challenge UAM demonstration project organized by the Korean Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport (MOLIT).
Volatus offers three main eVTOL infrastructure designs, a vehicle agnostic charging station, plus an app and maintenance programmes.
