India’s ePlane Company plans to have the first flight of its two-seat e200 air taxi next year with an entry into service in 2024, according to the company’s Shivank Kumar, speaking at the recent DroneX show in London.
The eVTOL is being marketed to taxi companies as “the most compact air taxi in the world”, with a footprint of just 5 X 5m and a range of 200km. A fully autonomous version will be available by 2030, said Shivank Kumar. However, the entry into service data is dependent on India’s aviation regulator adopting eVTOL certification criteria, which is currently missing, said the Shivank Kumar.
