The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) has approved the use of Measure Ground Control drone programme management platform the Department’s small unmanned aerial system (sUAS) Programme Measure announced. The LAPD will use the software to provide flight control, management, and oversight including detailed flight reports for training and deployment operations.
The LAPD operates the largest municipal airborne law enforcement organization in the nation and has trained operators and programme managers. The department will be training additional operators and programme managers on Ground Control in the coming year.
Measure Ground Control is an end-to-end solution for enterprise drone programmes. Ground Control combines a secure, user-friendly flight application with a comprehensive programme management portal and has features such as automatic flight tracking and regular activity reporting. These features help ensure compliance with federal and local drone regulations and reporting requirements for the LAPD’s strict drone programme.
Measure will provide its Ground Control drone programme management software to the LAPD, following an extensive review and approval process by the LAPD.
“Measure Ground Control affords us the ability for transparency and accountability to the public so that all operations are documented and reported in a timely manner,”
“We want to thank Measure and look forward to using the software as part of our efforts to protect the citizens of Los Angeles.” said the LAPD in a statement.
“We created Ground Control to serve clients such as the LAPD in scaling their drone operations,” said Measure’s CEO, Brandon Torres Declet. “We want to support the mission of the 2nd largest police force in the country, it was an easy decision to donate our software toward their efforts.”
