China’s NetEase news service reports that on June 18, EHang’s EH216-S completed its first flight demonstration at the Colorful Waterfront Wetland Park in Gaoping District, Nanchong City in northeastern Sichuan.
According to Ke Yangtao, Party Secretary and Chairman of Nanchong Linjiang Oriental Investment Group Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Nanchong State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission: “We will work with Ehang Intelligent Company to launch aerial tourism experience cultural tourism products that integrate the two core functions of scenic spot sightseeing and technology experience, explore and expand more low-altitude application scenarios, tap into the public service field to create demand, lead demonstration, and build a low-altitude economic demonstration scene and cultural, commercial, sports and tourism integrated development IP in northeastern Sichuan.”
The report says that a 76-kilometer low-altitude sightseeing route along the Jialing River is planned to be opened by the end of this year.
